Subject: [MDBirding] American White Pelican, Northern Shoveler - St. Mary's
The American White Pelicans were continuing today at the Elms Environmental Education Center. I was there from 11:00am - 11:45am. There were 8 birds present today, all in the pond nets north of the education center building. There were also three Great Cormorants and a Bonaparte's Gull with a nearly complete black hood.

I also birded Beauvue Ponds earlier in the morning, from about 8:45am to 9:45am. The waterfowl numbers were very low - only about a dozen Gadwall and even smaller numbers of Ruddy Ducks and Wigeon. However, there was a pair of Northern Shovelers, a fairly difficult bird for the county.
