I have also used all of these various apps (and a few more) on both my iPhone and my iPad----both in the field and at home. They all have their various strengths and weaknesses, but are relatively cheap and easy to use. I find that I use several of them often in the same situation. I have also really liked the iBirdPro for a quick reminder or check on various field marks or songs. When traveling for a quick business trip, I now often leave my field guide home and just rely on these electronic versions. For a serious "birding trip" however, I would always take my more detailed field guides. Like Lee, I have several bookshelves of field guides and would never give them up---and I continue to add more, but these electronic versions have been convenient for a quick check or refresher.

I love BOOKS & I intend to keep buying them, but I sure am happy with my Ipod (Iphone) birding apps. iBird Pro is an excellent product. I also use Sibley, Peterson & Audubon Birds. The different presentations & varying bird recordings teach me new things each time I use them. I've recently added HEADSUP Sparrows & HEADSUP Warblers, both birdJam products. WOW. This week I added National Geographic Birds. And, because I've liked iBird Pro so much, I added iBird UK (& Ireland). Wishing now for iBird to do southern Europe!
Having spent hundreds of hours in the car listening to the Stokes Field Guide to Bird Songs on CD I think I'll take the suggestions to branch out with Larkwire! Thanks.

I am sure this has been discussed before, but are there any recommendations on iPhone apps to help with identifying birds by their songs? Thanks!
