Subject: [MDBirding] Another grand day in the yard
Morning all.
Yesterday I only really had a chance to walk the yard twice in the morning, as there was grass cutting to finish and a baby grandson to watch in the afternoon. So with those stipulations, I still ended with 40 species. Best birds were well seen Great-crested Flycatcher and E. Wood-pewee in the yard, 2-3 Gray Catbirds, 2 Eastern kingbirds, a well-seen singing Blue-headed Vireo, heard only Wood Thrush, Red-eyed Vireo, and Grasshopper Sparrow, both male and female Orchard Orioles, male Baltimore Oriole, a female Rose-breasted Grosbeak briefly at the feeders, a male, singing Yellow Warbler perched in the top of the dogwood tree where most of my feeders hang, a singing White-throated Sparrow, a female Scarlet Tanager and most of the regulars.

I was not home at all after about 2 PM, so missed several easy birds, including Black Vulture, any hawk species, both Barn and Tree Swallows, and Chimney Swift.
