There is a Sandhill Crane at
2400 Shuresville Road
Darlington, MD

If you are coming out of Darlington on Shuresville Road going towards
Conowingo Dam, you will pass a cemetery on the left. The bird is at the
third house on the left past the cemetery.

It has been there for several days but I just found out about it
yesterday. Josh Emm spoke to the homeowner and homeowner does not want a
bunch of people coming for fear of stressing the bird, but slowly
driving by or taking pictures from the road is certainly acceptable.

Shuresville Road has a speed limit of 30 mph and has a moderate amount
of traffic but if you are lucky, you can probably stop briefly for a
look. The bird moves around and may be in the field behind the house if
it is not visible in the yard. I was there this morning and only saw the
bird from the neck up in the field behind the house.

Again, DO NOT GO ON THE PROPERTY - Observe from the road.

The eagle looked down on the river below
And he wrapped his wings round him and he fell like a stone
And the big salmon fought but the talons held true
And he shuddered as the world turned from silver to blue
