Greetings:

It must be a wet Saturday on Hawk Mountain.

We live in the woods. No grass. No domesticated plants outside.
Just trees at the windows. When we returned last night at about
8:00 pm a Barred Owl sat on a dogwood branch, a few feet from the
kitchen window. The feeders outside the window have created a
rather thick layer of niger and sunflower hulls and seeds on the
ground. So its a mousey place. Just inside the window a 9 year old
African Gray Parrot and a Cockatiel set.

The barred Owls are looking for significant others this time of
year, but while the parrot is beautiful and the cockatiels dainty
beauty is attractive, I think the owls appetite was just for a fat
mouse.
