MDO:

Bummer about the leg, Gary! You should do like some
folks do in southern Maryland, just leave your lights
up year-round.

I forgot to mention that at about 7:45 a.m., while
Jane (on crutches, Gary) and Kyle were scoping the
Common Gull, I watched a first winter ICELAND GULL
fly overhead at the south end of the parking lot.
Later, after we had satiated our eyes on the CG, Kyle
relocated the bird behind the wall near the tailrace.
Despite more searching, no-one could find it after
the whole flock took off and reshuffled.

After departing Conowingo, Jane and I decided to work
on our St. Mary's County year list. We headed over to
Beauvue Ponds, near Leonardtown, MD where we had about
100 RING-NECKED DUCKS, 3 BLACK DUCKS, 5 HOODED MERGANSERS,
several dozen RUDDY DUCKS, 3 GADWALL, a NORTHERN HARRIER,
an EASTERN MEADOWLARK and about 2 dozen TUNDRA SWANS.
That puts our year list up to about 60 (SMC only).

Good Birding!
