A quick, and unofficial note about the Baltimore Harbor Count, held Saturday, Jan. 3. Preliminary species total was about 108, close to high. Count was bouyed by such finds as 70+ Snow Buntings at Hart-Miller, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Laughing Gull, Lesser Yellowlegs, Common Snipe, and five wrens, including Sedge at Sewage Treatment Plant in frag ponds along railroad tracks near mouth of Bread and Cheese Creek. Not all parties were in at the tally, so additions are possible. Rick "Everywhere I go I'm asked if the university stifles writers. My opinion is that they don't stifle enough of them. There's many a bestseller that could have been prevented by a good teacher." Flannery O'Connor Rick Blom rblom@blazie.com Bel Air, Maryland
