Folks have given good information about the no-show of the yellow-billed loon through 11:45, but one more thing to note is that Marshall Iliff, the finder, came to the location and spent several hours looking with the rest of us. He remains confident that the bird he saw monday had the field marks of a juvenile YBLO, and that the common loon we were looking at was not at all the bird he had yesterday in good light and for two hours. There's a lot of water that one can't get to by road,, so the bird could be anywhere. Jane Kostenko and Tyler Bell jkostenko@osprey.smcm.edu bell@acnatsci.org california, md
