John,

We have no additional details at this point other than the previous two postings.  Unfortunately I couldn't get to the landfill until shortly before closing, and by then the light was terrible.  Also, the rate of flow of edible goodies was much reduced near closing time, so the birds spent a lot of time in the trash heaps and hard to see.  I'll be back there tomorrow, though with no activity to attract the birds I don't hold much hope.  With luck the bird will remain until others can see it.
