Noon sightings in DC

During my lunchtime walk, at the intersection of Pennsylvania and
Constitution, in a little island of trees between the Canadian embassy
and the National Gallery, surrounded by traffic--an immature Red-tailed
Hawk perched and being harrassed by two American Crows. I imagine
he was waiting on the appearance of a squirrel or a rat.
One hundred yards up the street, a forest of satellite dish antennas
and a crowd of reporters and camerapeople, waiting outside the Federal
courthouse for something exciting to happen. Little did they realize
the action was a little further down the way!
