I'm on a roll so don't stop me now! The MOS Board listened to a presentation about TWW about 4 years ago and they were convinced that this was worth MOS supporting it. This was so noted in the minutes of the board meeting published in MD Yellowthroat. I've published material about the TWW in the Yellowthroat three or four times over the past four years. I attend the monthly meetings of the TWW MD Coalition as a representative of the MOS and regularly report on what is going on to the MOS Board of Directors. In all this time and with all the opportunities for people to object that MOS is not carrying out the will of the membership, ONE person has approached me (rather pugnaciously, I might add) and told me that he didn't agree. I discussed our differences, tried to answer those that I could, and then invited him to submit something to the Yellowthroat, so that he could share his views with the rest of the membership. That was two years ago...and I'm still waiting. I have no vested interest in hiding the diverse views of our membership--I, quite literally, publish everything that is submitted to me for the Yellowthroat. If you have a serious objection to the State MOS organization (and virtually all of the Chapters, as well) supporting this initiative, then you have an obligation to tell your Chapter board members, to write letters to the MD Yellowthroat, to attend Board Meetings, to do whatever you need to do to get your opinion in front of the MOS decision-makers. This is what you should do. Best, Norm =============== Norm Saunders Colesville, MD osprey@ari.net
