Dan, Sounds like you had a wonderful Sunday afternoon!! I'm particularly interested in your hike to the remote finger of the lake in Black Hill Park. Due to the time constraints a newborn places on his parents (my 19 month old is still in diapers, too), my birding of late has been limited to the hour or so that I can steal away during my lunch "hour". Recently, I've been frequenting Black Hill, but up till now limiting myself to views from the boat landing area or pull-off at Clarksburg Rd. If there's a short hike to a remote area to be had, I could sure use the "mental health holiday" it would bring!! Could you please provide me more info on your hike, especially if it can be done in less than 1 hour round trip?
