Just in from a half-hour scan (4:15-4:45 p.m. Friday) of the creek off the pier of Evan's Seafood on St. George's Island, in St. Mary's County. A lone common loon was floating by, but still no sign of any possible other loon species. There's a lot of water to pick from, if you're a loon that doesn't want to be seen...
