Hi folks! Andy asked about a way to help out listers and Fran has offered a decent suggestion. If we all had the time and resources right now, the technology exists to see the following scenario: One web site that has a personal logon and a Maryland (or any area for that matter) Checklist online. You would logon and check off the birds for your Maryland (for example sake) wishlist. You would also enter the number of your alpha-pager where you could be reached. Also at this web page would be a sightings list. Birders could logon and check off what birds they've seen, where they saw them, and at what time the birds were seen. If this coincided with your wishlist, your alph-pager would automatically get sent a message about the sighting... A more practical solution, however, would be more like Fran has suggested. Send her your wish list (Fran, I'm taking liberties here <grin>). While it is probably impossible for one person to keep track of what people have seen or not seen, what *might* be accomplished is this: Fran (and maybe some helpers?) could count up the number of times a species is "wished" and compile the official MDOsprey "Most Wanted List", sorted in descending order by number of "wish" hits. This could be posted to MDOsprey and we could use our collective knowledge to help each other out... Fran, if you've got any ideas how to divvy up the load, I like to hear it. I'll throw in my help when I'm in town this year (unfortunately, that's probably not a whole lot <grin>). Bahama Mockingbird dreaming (FL here I come!), Greg Miller Lusby, MD
