Birding, Easter Sunday

Hi Folks!
I watched sunrise on Bohemia Church Rd. in Cecil Cecil County [Delorme 61,
A4]. 6 Great Horneds, 1 Screech-Owl, and 1 Barred Owl....along with hundreds
robins and whitethroats singing. Had a glimpse of a Flying Squirrel glide to a
trunk and then vanish into a hole.
For those who want Vesper Sparrows for their County Lists...the first few
males have arrived. In Cecil, the far southeast corner along Eger Price Rd.
near Joe Metz Rd. is a traditional nesting area [Delorme 61, A5]. In Kent,
listen along the north side of Bradford Johnson Rd. near Massey-Sassafras Rd.
or along School No.10 Rd. just west of Millington WMA [both Delorme 61, B5].
Millington WMA had lots of gnatcatchers, 3 male Black-and-white Warblers, 1
male Yellow Palm Warbler, 2 male Lousiana Waterthrush, and 2 White-eyed
Vireos. Several groups of Rusty Blackbirds were hiding in the swampy forest.
There are numerous flooded fields in eastern Caroline and extreme northeastern
Dorchester.....thousands of Laughing Gulls. The only shorebirds were Greater
Yellowlegs.
Waterfowl, juncos, and whitethroats are mostly gone.....
Butterflies are out: Spring Azure, Clouded Sulphur, Orange Sulphur, Cabbage
White, Pearl Crescent, and Juvenal's Duskywing. I saw two kinds of dragonfly,
a single Common Green Darner and lots of something not in my guidebook...I
took photos and will figure it out later.
