Adding a bit.
We were able to go up Saw Mill Canyon using a medium size sedan by
crossing the concreted dips diagonally and very slowly, otherwise
the front and rear parts of the car would have dragged and possibly
hung up. Problems with the other parts of the road were just ruts.
On the mountain roads, signs ask that you sound your horn at curves.
That's very good advice. We encountered vehicles when we were in
the outside lane in curves that are almost hairpin , looking far
down, that were driving too fast and swinging too wide on the inside
lane. Being extra careful keeps the drivers seat drier.
