The DC Pacific Loon

Got to East Potomac Park at 11:30AM and walked and traveled around Ohio Drive
three times with stops along the way, especially across from Hogates and
Haines Point. Finally saw the Loon at 12:50PM off Haines Point and got Mike
and Jack Powers to see it too. It was only a few feet away from us near the
railings. It was under water more times than above and after about a half hour
lost sight of it. The sides of it neck were interesting with its elongated
stripings (striations?) The throat patch appeared black facing us with the
sun at its back.
