  Folks,

From about 8:00 to 8:30 Wednesday morning, Roger Stone and I saw THE
LOON. It dove repeatedly and worked its way down the channel (south) to
the point, where it caught a fish. After swallowing that monstrosity, it
stayed above water and floated out towards the airport. As we were
leaving, we saw what appeared to be the same bird flying away from the
point and landing near the far shore, in front of a long wall of rocks
that are in front of some houses. My map calls this place Giesboro Point.

Good luck to all in finding it, and may it swim too close to you for your
binoculars to focus!
