Bird Reporting

Okay, while I think better use of the SUBJECT line might be utilized, I've found
most of the MDOsprey posts appropriate. While a more detailed report might
be necessary when reporting to the MD/DC records committee, that much detail isn't required for MDOsprey. After all, all we are doing is trying to
make other aware of our sightings so they might be confirmed, or simply shared by others.

I don't see a need to do more than mention the species, and describe the location, with perhaps directions to the location. More detailed discussions of field marks can also be done here after the fact, but initially the most important thing is to get there and see the bird.

I appreciate any report that gets me to the location, or perhaps motivates me to visit the location and see a different bird in the process (which is what happens a lot).

More detailed descriptions of birds in out of state trip reports probably should be done offline, or in another forum.

My two cents.

Good Birding,
