Must be true, since the volume of the clock in our family room varies
quite a bit with the level of illumination.

The modos are fairly loud when the lights are on for breakfast, and most
dulcet when we dine by candle light.

PS: another birdclock story...  A friend of mine got one for her weekend
house somewhere in southern Calvert County.  After dinner on a Friday
evening, they installed it and sat down to read.  Suddenly, she and her
husband were sure the burglar alarm was going off in her new sport-ute
and they rushed outside, only to be greeted by silence.  An hour later,
they realized that it had been the new bird clock.
