Hi all:
I birded the Elkton area this am ( July 10 ), & was rewarded with
another bird for the county list, a 1st spring BLACK- CROWN NIGHT
HERON, on a pond the south end of Delaware Ave in Elkton. Also 3 GREEN
HERONS, 2 adults & 1 juvenile.

A family of very vocal tit-mice is providing much entertainment @ the
all- you - can- eat buffet in the back yard.
While picking blueberries in the yard, I had around me the bubbly song
of House Wren& the eccentric jumble of Cat-bird. We are lucky as
birders to be in tune to these sounds ; I imagine many folk go through
life oblivious to this free entertainment. While working in the yard, I
focus on the bird sounds, to the extent that nearby traffic noise
bothers me not a bit. On the other hand, my husband focuses only on the
traffic, & once in awhile lets a bird song into his awareness. Is there
a point here- darned if I know- gotta go now.
