A terrific flight today at Rock Creek Park, DC -- attended by a good turnout
of birders as well. It started very slowly -- for a while there were more
birds than birders -- but suddenly the air was filled with chips and sips
and the warblers poured in! Barry and I didn't get back home until 11:30 am,
as there were still birds around.

Warblers: Black-throated Blue (9), Black-throated Green (30+), Black-and-
White (8), Blackburnian (8-9), Bay-breasted (10), Blue-winged (3), Blackpoll
(4), Chestnut-sided (40+, many adults), Canada (2), Magnolia (25), Nashville
(2), Ovenbird (2), Golden-winged (1, F), Parula (1), Pine (1), Redstart (8),
Tennessee (3), Wilsons (1, M), Common Yellowthroat (8). (19 spp.toto)

Flycatchers: Empidonax are coming through, while Pewee numbers are way down:
Least (2), "Traill's" (1), Acadian (2), Yellow-bellied (1), Empid sp. (2),
Pewee (2).

Vireo: Red-eyed (30+), Warbling (1)

Others: Rose-breasted Grosbeak (2), Swainson's Thrush (3), Scarlet Tanager (1),
House Wren (6), R-T Hummingbird (2).

Still lots of Robins, Catbirds, and Cedar Waxwings around.
