A slow day at Fairhill Nature Center today, but a good turnout of birdwatchers for leader Scott Powers, 10 all told. It was such a slow day we resorted to saying " this spot here was really good for Kentucky W. in the spring ", etc. etc. It was so slow we were glad to see Red-eye Vireo. A bit of a let down after the major fall outs @ Turkey Point in the last week or so. Chestnut-sided ( 2 ) and Blue-wing ( 1 ) were had early before the group arrived. Canada W. ( 1 ) a first fall bird with extremely obscure black necklace was seen about 10 am. Black-throated Blue ( 3 ) , Black-throated Green ( 1 ) , Redstart ( 4 ) and Prairie W ( 1 ) completed the Warbler lineup. Bobolinks ( 10 ) flew overhead as we traversed a meadow. One Woodthrush sounded alarm, and 2 Broadwings + one Osprey were observed overhead at one point. Not a whole lot else of note. Can`t wait for that next front. Leslie Fisher Cecil Co. MD
