I birded along Tucker Lane (off New HAmpshire Ave. in Ashton, MD) again this
morning, including a power line cut and woods along the river, and between
7:30 & 10;30 found 12 species of warblers, and 3 species of vireos, along with
2 Swainsons Thrushs. Warblers were: N.Parula, A.Redstart, Magnolia, Black-
throated Green and Black-throated Blue, Blackburnian, Palm (palmarum race),
Nashville, Canada, Ovenbird, Common Yellowthroat (many, with a male still
singing), and Chestnut-sided. Vireos included huge numbers of Red-eyed, a few
singing White-eyed and another PHILADELPHIA (less yellow underneath than the
one seen here last week).
If you're interested in directions, leave an e-mail posted to me at
Warblerick@aol.com. This spot is usually very "hot" for warblers both spring
and fall.
