Subject: Amer. Golden-Plover, + in DC
I stopped by the mouth of 4-mile Run late Sunday (9/13) morning, and saw
the following shorebirds:
2 American Golden-Plovers
3 Black-bellied Plovers
4 Pectoral Sandpipers
87 Lesser Yellowlegs
Also there were:
6 Blue-winged Teal
3 No. Pintails
1 Great Egret
2 Pied-billed Grebes
Plus the usual Caspian & Forster's Terns, Laughing, Herring, Ring-billed &
Great Black-backed Gulls, Mallards, Canada Geese, Great Blue Herons, etc.
My high count for Lesser Yellowlegs at that spot was last Friday, when I
counted 99. Also saw a Dunlin there at that time.
