This a.m., Mike Collins and I had a sedge wren at Wakefield Park in
Annandale. It was frequenting a small pool formed by a drying stream in the
powerline cut.

Direx: From the Beltway, take the Braddock Rd. exit west (outside Beltway)
and take the first right into Wakefield Park. Drive to the last parking lot
and turn left just before you see the pavement end. There is a blue
recycling center sign there. Then drive to the NW corner of the lot and
park facing the tennis courts. Take the path left of the tennis courts to
the powerline cut, then take the path that crosses the cut. You will find
another trail that follows the edge of the cut on the other side. Take a
left on this path and walk about 1/4 mile until you come across a dip,
where the stream crosses. At this spot we observed the bird for a few
minutes. It was very close and in the company of a juv. house wren,
goldfinches, catbirds, and a few other birds apparently drawn to the water.
