From: Les Willis <cwillis@INFI.NET> Subject: VA RBA Ivory Gull (not?) 9/15/98 To: BIRDEAST@LISTSERV.ARIZONA.EDU The 1st winter Ivory Gull reported from the CBBT on 9/12/98 now seems to be in question. On the same day two other observers in separate groups reported seeing a "dyed" or "oiled" tern at the same location. The following is the original text: "It was seen feeding between islands 3 & 4 with terns and Laughing Gulls. Note - it shows a lot of sooty color across the entire head down to the chest." If you are in the area, please double check any birds matching the above description. While Ivory Gull may have seemed out of the question, it is my policy to get this type of information out to the public to be either confirmed or proven not to be. Updates will be posted as soon as other info is available. Les Willis Suffolk, VA --------------C6913425996961C9BE23F1FF--
