Friends, This may be a "long-shot," but I wonder if there is anyone who would like to go looking for am. golden plovers and buff-breasted sandpipers with me Friday? I was scheduled to go out with Gene Scarpulla to Hart-Miller Island yesterday, but some burst water pipes in my yard prevented me from leaving the house Saturday. I was especially frustrated to miss this trip, because my occupation will tie up my Saturdays for a couple of months, and so I won't be able to return to the Island until both species are, most likely, long gone. However, even though Saturdays are tied up, I should be able to take Friday (September 25) for birding. I realize that a number of people in MD Osprey have already described promising places for the birds, and I could try to find these locations alone if I must. But, as I have seen neither species before, and as none of the described locations are familiar to me, I would truly enjoy having someone else along to confirm any sightings. Anyone interested? I would be willing to drive and/or meet someone at a specified location. Any other suggestions? Thanks. Don Burggraf Baltimore burggraf@erols.com
