Secondly, ya gotta love the above statement. I remember wanting the ground to open up the day I mis-called a bird at Hawk Mtn ( so who cares ! ). In the same vein, I debated posting a poss. Swainsons W. @ Turkey Point. ( Now all these closet sightings are going to come out ). I only saw the bird briefly as it that quickly appeared in/out of view. It had the right appearance, but a) I was by myself b) doubted my call c) did not get a good look at the bill d) bird was in a viney mass about 10` from ground. ( Would have been a life bird ). My impression- a W. size and shape bird, very plain brown above, no wing bars, pale below , very distinct brown crown and a contrasting light supercilium. Any thoughts from the crowd?
