Gail,
Thanks for your input. I didn't actually sign off the list.
I'm still here. One of the convenient things about MDOsprey
is that you can easily sign on and off. To avoid getting a
bunch of distracting messages while I'm at work, I decided
to sign off and just monitor it from Siler's web page and
then sign on when I want to post something.
An important thing that I was very careless to leave off
my report, which was written in a big hurry on Saturday:
The bird was an adult male, which is totally unmistakable.
I apologize for omitting that crucial detail!
Also, I have absolutely no problem with skepticism. As I
mentioned before, I realize that skepticism is very important.
What I do not like, and have experienced with other hotlines,
is when reports are just blown off. It seems like some kind
of status nonsense is at work when this happens. I'm not into
that kind of thing. I just want to enjoy birds and see others
do the same.
I also wanted to add that I don't want to come over as
criticizing those who serve the community by putting out
RBA's. I realize that they work very hard doing a volunteer
job.
