Ralph and All, I would recommend the Braddock Rd. entrance because it is easier to find, other birders congregate there, and it is closer to some of the spots that have been good this fall. Take the Braddock Rd. exit outside the Beltway and turn right into the Park at the second light. Go to the far parking lot which has a blue recycling center sign. Follow the path that skirts around the tennis courts to the powerline cut. The best areas have been on the west side of the cut, but some really good birds have also been seen near the tennis courts. There are miles of trails. Some of the better ones go along the creek that is in the woods to the west of the powerline cut. It has been very slow for warblers for more than a week even though a few good ones have shown up. Things did pick up quite a bit this morning. There seem to be some sparrows moving in, and lots of thrushes can be seen along the creek trails. I have a feeling that there might be a few more good days for warblers. I suggest a pair of rubber boots or old shoes since it has rained lately. I would recommend arriving around 7:00. Mike Collins Annandale, Virginia collins@ram.nrl.navy.mil
