Thanks, Ellen.  I will run, not walk, to find a copy of Halle's book and
find out more about his evidently lyrical views of spring in Washington
and his association with the-marsh-called-Dyke, which apparently you
reflect with passion.

....and think not that the matter has become contentious and
matter-of-principle, it's just that a lot of us (and obviously you and I
share the views of many on the misnomered landing strip that should have
been closed when we had the chance in the early 70s) are reluctant to
get on bandwagons when we don't know where they come from.  Your missive
to me (via MDOsprey) certainly educates a lot of us, for which we thank
you.

Neither AltaVista nor MetaCrawler searches turned up nothing for
"anolastan", so apparently that has truly receded into the
mists....whatever it meant.
