[Is it possible that the name "Dyke Marsh" isn't as old or as firmly established as previously asserted?]. >> Though I have been to Dyke Marsh many times, I cannot say that I refer to it as "Dyke Marsh" very often. I mostly call it Dyke. Therefore I cannot conclude that it calls to question how firmly established the name is. Also, I must admit my ignorance, I have never heard of Louis Halle either. However, I have heard of many other names that are associated with Dyke that an argument could very easily be made to rename the park after them. I do think renaming the trail is a brilliant idea. Since the trail is what most birders and naturalists use at Dyke, it would certainly not be an insignificant gesture to name the trail for someone. Todd Day Jeffersonton, VA BlkVulture@AOL.com
