Gail, I birded around Layhill Park all Saturday morning and found numbers of sparrows similar to what you reported, except I found no juncos, nor Chipping Sparrows, nor did I see a single bluebird (!). I only found 4 immature White- crowns (lovely birds) but I did find one Lincoln's Sparrow in the bushy area just beyond the "boy scout bridge". White-throats were everywhere, as were goodly numbers of Song and Swamps (one of my favorite sparrows), lots of both kinglets, yellow-rumps, jays and phoebes, along with catbirds, robins, and flickers. Also had a single nice male Black-throated Blue and numerous Black- throated Greens. Still looking for a Connecticut though... Rick Sussman Ashton,MD Warblerick@aol.com
