Howdy All!

Yesterday, I was walking into the plant at BGE and heard a Northern
Mockingbird, which is *not* unusual <grin>. What *was*
unusual were the immitations. First it did a great rendition of
the _pit-i-tuk_ call of a Summer Tanager. Cool. But, don't stop
there! It was immediately followed by a very convincing
_stick-yank_ call of a Scarlet Tanager. Wow! Two tanagers back-to-back!!!

Ok. So maybe the rest of you don't get off on Mockingbird
calls. You all know I'm a pretty sick puppy anyway <grin>. I
also sometimes listen to *good* Mockingbirds and try to see how
many different songs I can identify in a minute. My record is 7
recognizable immitations from a Mocker in Oklahoma in 1984.

Also, I heard Chipping Sparrows singing from the parking lot
this morning...
