Nancy and I went to Washington Monument State Park in Washington County
on my way to spend the afternoon with Nancy's sister who lives in
Boonsboro.

We were at the Hawk Watch there from 9:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., and
during that time we saw the following species among others:

Turkey Vulture 49
Osprey 1
Northern Harrier 3
Sharp-shinned Hawk 39
Cooper's Hawk 14
Red-shouldered Hawk 6
Red-tailed Hawk 10
Peregrine Falcon 1
Common Raven 8 (resident)
Tree Swallow 3

It was a beautiful day. The temperature was in the high fifties, and the
winds were light (3-10 mpn) and from the SSE. Many of the hawks came in
low, directly over the monument, and we had fine looks at them.
