I heard that the bird was not found today. Will keep everyone posted
with what the status is. The initial observers were very careful to not
approach the bird, spish or interfere in any way. (hoping it would stay
put!).
PLEASE remember the farm is private property. Many hours of effort were
put into meetings with the "powers that be" so we could gain authorized
access.
I will take anyone that wants to go on sat. afternoon at 3:00 p.m. We
will meet at the board of education building on rt. 108 (west of
Centennial park) and carpool out because the farm has limited parking.
There is a POSSIBILTY we may divert the Centennial park walk on Sunday
morning to look for the bird. This will be determined that morning when
the group meets. (Or we may leave centennial early and check for the
bird).
I will also be birding the farm on Election day morning(next tues)
please e-mail me if you intersted in going and I will e-mail directions
on where to meet. We will look for the Harris' but I will also doing a
normal sparrow search. Be advised there are no paths, walking may be
difficult through chest high brush and weeds(possibly wet). There are no
facilities and ALOT of walking is involved.( Hopefully the birds will
not have pulled out).
