During my lunch break today (Wednesday, Nov. 11th), I went looking for the Smithsonian's not-so-transient avifauna. Could not find the Virginia Rail but saw the Ovenbird at the same spot I last saw the rail, near yews along Independence Ave. and close to the Arts & Industries building.
