The joint Baltimore/Carroll bird clubs field trip to Piney 
Run Park with 18 people on Saturday, Nov. 14 found 56 species.  
Highlights follow with sightings from Carroll Co. locations (PR = Piney 
Run, WR = Westminster Reservoir, H = Hashawha).

Pied-billed Grebe - 20 at PR, 1 at WR
Great Blue Heron - 3 at PR
Snow Goose - 2 adult blues at PR
Canada Goose - 500 at PR plus 1 probable hybrid X Graylag; 160 at WR plus 
	2 adult Graylags
Tundra Swan - 2 immatures at PR
Wood Duck - 1 female at PR
Gadwall - 38 at PR
Black Duck - 30 at PR
Mallard - 175 at PR, 3 at WR, 15 at H
Pintail - 1 female at H
Green-winged Teal - 2 at WR
Redhead - 1 male at PR
Ring-necked Duck - 130 at PR, 1 at WR
Lesser Scaup - 6 at PR
Bufflehead - 16 at PR, 4 at WR
Hooded Merganser - 25 at PR, 4 at WR
Ruddy Duck - 125 at PR
Bald Eagle - 1 adult at PR
Coot - 350 at PR
Killdeer - 21 at PR, 33 at WR
Ring-billed Gull - 30 at PR, 35 at WR
Herring Gull - 1 at PR, 45 at WR
Hermit Thrush - 3 at PR
Pipit - heard at PR
Fox Sparrow - 1 at PR, 3 at Morgan Run Env. Area

Late Butterflies - Cabbage - 1 at PR, Clouded Sulfur - 2 at PR & 3 at H, 
Orange Sulfur - 3 at H & 1 at WR, Variegated Fritillary - 1 at PR & 1 at 
H.

Late dragonflies - 2 or 3 meadowflies (probably Yellow-legged) at H.
