The eastern movemenmt of Franklin's Gulls is massive by normal
standards. Not only 40 in New Jersey in a day, plus more yesterday, but
according to a post on the Ohio listserv, at least 291 there since
Thursday. The interesting note in that post is that observers checking
flocks of gulls in fields found Franklin's in virtually every one, many in
the southern and eastern parts of the state and in neighboring areas of
West Virginia. It seems that checking flocks in fields may be the best way
to find one right now.

"Everywhere I go I'm asked if the university stifles writers. My opinion is
that they don't stifle enough of them. There's many a bestseller that could
have been prevented by a good teacher." Flannery O'Connor
