Hi Steve,

Yes, Avalon is about 40 minutes north of Cape May, as the law-abiding
citizen drives, and assuming there are no birding stops along the way.
Sure!!!

The directions are: From exit 13 on the Garden State Parkway, go east into
Avalon, at the 2nd light turn left on to Dune Drive.  Continue north to 7th
Street and turn right.  You will immediately see the parking area and folks
with scopes, etc.  There are no concessions or restrooms, but the friendly
CMBO watchers can provide additional information.

Chances of Dovekie from there are rather low.  There is a pelagic from
Briele, NJ on Dec. 5 that my wife and I are signed up for.  I'd settle for
a Great Skua.  If you are interestered in the pelagic, I would be glad to
send alng details.  <I have no commercial inetrest in the trip.>
