The San Francisco Chronicle/Examiner reported last week that biologists say the California Condor "could be thriving in nature soon." A record 20 chicks were hatched this year and the population has increased to 150 from only 30 a decade ago. I assume the condor does not meet ABA listing standards. Two questions: 1- When was the last time anyone could list a condor by ABA standards? Or was it before the ABA was founded? 2 - What will have to happen for the condor to be approved for listing with the ABA again? Too bad Greg can't check one off for this year. ______ David Gersten gerstens@erols.com Herndon, VA
