Bethesda Hawk Attack

At about 7:40 this morning (Thursday) I saw that all the birds were
agitated out my office window. Well, a Peregrine Falcon was perched on top
of the closest office building I see from my office! A passing Ring-billed
Gull took a swoop toward the falcon. The falcon soon took off and flew
just over rooftop level and then out of sight, still stirring up pigeons,
crows, and starlings. In the low morning sun, without binoculars, I wasn't
sure about the color of the hawk's back.

A great way to start the morning.
