This is for Phyllis Grimm: Phyllis, I've sent you a couple of emails and I haven't even gotten a receipt back that you've read them, so I was afraid that your mail server either wasn't getting them, or that I typed the wrong address. In any case, I have the article. My original message follows: Phyllis, I couldn't find the article Monday evening, but I found it last night, so I'm sorry it took so long. It is in Last December's "Birding". If you have a fax number I would be happy to try sending it to you. I could mail it if you like, its only three pages. It basically compares the Tri_pack and the Scope Pack. There's about a $90 difference in price. I would think that if this couple birds together most of the time, the Tri_pack would be fine because one of them could carry the scope, and the other could carry a backpack with the rest of the gear. On the other hand, if they bird alone often enough, the Scope Pack allows you to pack other gear besides the scope on your back. My husband carries almost everything himself. He has a shoulder strap (about $15) which mounts to the tripod (better for tall people than short) and still halls a backpack around. But he's a really big guy and I'm about 5'2" and have a bit of a back problem. ----------------------------------------- Christine Taylor Geographer / GIS Specialist (301713-3000x129 christine.taylor@noaa.gov or ctaylor@seamail.nos.noaa.gov
