     Over the long weekend, Black Hill Park (Montgomery County), accessed 
     from the paved Hiker/Biker/Dog Walking path at the end of Spinning 
     Wheel Dr., had close views of one Red-headed Woodpecker and about 12 
     Hood Mergansers. Black Hill, accessed from Ten Mile Creek Road, had 
     close views of 25+ Black Ducks, 6 Hood Mergansers, 50+ American 
     Wigeons, 60+ Buffleheads, 6 Gadwalls, 50+ Ring-necked Ducks, 5+ 
     Pied-billed Grebes, one Common Goldeneye, Mallards, Canada Geese, one 
     Double-crested Cormorant, 2 Red-tailed Hawks and one Fox Sparrow. The 
     main area of Black Hill added Ruddy Ducks and Coots. Along the C & O 
     Canal,  Nolan's Ferry had numerous Red-bellied Woodpeckers, 3+ 
     Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers, numerous Downy Woodpeckers, 2 Hairy 
     Woodpeckers, 2+ Flickers, one Pileated Woodpecker, 10+ Bluebirds, both 
     Kinglets, one Brown Creeper, Myrtle Warblers, one Barred Owl, 2 Rusty 
     Blackbirds and pretty views of a setting sun. Happy birding, Dan
