Hey Folks:
Apologies for double post, inadvertently sent with old heading.
( The computer started doing something bizarre with the dates, this
really is today, 12/18 ).
Had some nice sightings today while out for an invigorating hike o`er
hill and dale with my 3 dogs. My county list, stuck at 199, struck 200
when a splendid ring-neck pheasant flushed from a hedgerow bordering a
field of corn stubble. ( Just a liiiitle closer and I`d have a yard
bird, came home and optimistically scattered corn ). In the same field,
a male harrier hovering silently, a kestrel, rusty tail glinting in the
sun, and a red-tail overhead, screaming defiance at the invasion of his
terrtitory. Also 6 killdeer in an area of winter wheat. Guess I`m
going to have to learn gulls and hang out at landfills next year in
order to beef up the county list. But, my goal was 200, and I`m there!
Do we hear 210? ( Does this remind you all of anyone )
Xmas Cheer to all,
