Hi all,
I went to Sandy Point State Park this morning. I parked in the small
parking lot in front of the south beach. I walked all around the south
beach area and did not find any Snow Buntings and then proceeded to walk
around the rest of the park. On my way back to the car I walked through
the grasses down to the beach and immediately a flock of Snow Buntings
flew out of the short brown grass, giving their chattering call notes,
and quickly landed not far away. On further observation I noted that
there were 19 of them. Other interesting birds at the park included a
fair number of ducks most of them Bufflehead, a few loons, and a very
cooperative Marsh Wren.
