Blackbird Sighting

Was at the North Tract of the Patuxent Refuge this AM and saw two blackbirds
at the north end of Lake Allen. Got pretty good look- long bills, yellow eye,
glossy black. They looked like Rusty BBs, but had no rust. Could they be
pre-molt birds or birds that have already lost their rust? The light wasn't
good enough to see if they had purlpe or greenish sheen. What else would
differential Rusty & Brewer's. How close are the two bill sizes. These birds
seemed to have farily long bills.

PS Saw a "flock" of at least 17 male Towhees near scout camp 2. Anyone ever
seen that many together.
