Folks, During scouting missions for the Manasas CBC I am pleased to report that an Oldsquaw was found on a pond in the battlefield area (by Todd Day). It was hanging out with a dozen or so Hooded Mergs. I went and took a few pictures of it today. We are hoping the bird will hang around until Sunday, the day of the count. But at least it gets into the record books with a "CW" after it. The last few weeks have yielded observations of several Fox Sparrows, a couple of White-Crowns, a few Savannahs, several Winter Wrens, many Hermit Thrushes and two groups of Wild Turkeys. We hope these will make the observation reports next Sunday! See you next Sunday! Kurt Gaskill, kurtcapt87@aol.com
