Folks,

On the way to see the two white-winged gull species at Pax Visitors Center, I
stopped by LBJ grove. Indeed, an Orange-crown and 4 Pine Warblers were still
present with the flock of 7 or so GC Kinglets. I then went for the gulls (see
previous posts).

Having seen the gulls I was struck by how well the day was going. So I headed
for Hain's Pt hoping to see another gull species or two but struck out.
Instead, I ran across a mated Redhead pair swimming in the Potomac close to
the road about 1/3 of the way north from the "Awakening!" In the background
were 3 female and one male Common Goldeneye. Nearby an adult Bald Eagle
perched. Good!

I stopped by Roaches run on the way home and found a few of the dabblers and
divers, Pintails, Gadwall, Mallards, Hooded Mergs, Bufflehead, PBG, 10 Great
Blues. Oh, and 6 Greater Yellowlegs. Now to see Yellowlegs in January is a
treat!

I went home cold but happy. I hope everyones' CBCs go well Sunday!
